７年ぶりのフル・アルバムとなりますが、スタジオ録音ではなくライヴです。
Disc2はリトル・フィートの前座としてのものでリトル・フィートのメンバーも
演奏に加わっています。
バック・バンドの中心となっているのは現在ヴァレリーが住むフロリダの
ローカル・バンドRockets of Loveのリーダー、ロブ・タイアで、ベーシストも
同バンドのメンバーです。このアルバムでの演奏を聴く限り、ブルース・ロック
的な演奏を得意とするようで、ヴァレリーのアルバム「Wild Child」のような
洗練された感じは苦手のようです。ですからディスク１の（６）、（９）、（１１）
あたりには違和感を覚えます。逆によりゴスペルっぽい（８）では生き生き
しており、ゴスペル、リズム＆ブルース系の選曲に絞ったライヴにしたほうが
このバックバンドには合っているかもしれません。
リトル・フィートのメンバーが参加したディスク２では（２）、（３）、（４）、（７）が
ディスク１とダブっていますが、こちらのほうがロブ・タイアたちの演奏はずっと
良いです。リトル・フィートのメンバーが加わることによって、緊張感が高まって
引き締まっています。
全体を通してヴァレリーの歌はより豊熟となっていて聴き応えはあるものの
バックの演奏との調和に欠けるのが残念です。ヴォンダ・シェパードのバック・
バンド（ギタリストはジャクソン・ブラウンのバックもしているVal
McCallum)あたり
とだったらしっくりきていたかもしれません。
